The studio
Everything goes into three apps.
De Appmakers is a small, independent app studio. We come up with our own products, build them ourselves and carry the responsibility when something breaks. No layers in between, no account managers, no roadmap written by an investor.
The story
From client work to our own products.
The course changed deliberately. Everything we learned in years of service work now goes into three apps of our own.

Custom software for businesses
De Appmakers started out building business software: apps, automation and integrations inside Microsoft 365, for clients across a range of sectors. That built a solid foundation in process thinking, security and making things that have to keep working for years.
- Now
-
One studio, three products
Since 2026 we no longer take on new client work. All attention goes to consumer apps we publish ourselves: Nadira, BlindRoll and ThinkGrid. That's a deliberate choice for depth over breadth — three apps that get genuinely good beats ten that stay half-finished.

Growing what already exists
The coming period is about growing the existing apps: better onboarding, more content, iOS releases and the things users actually ask for. New apps come only once the current three stand on their own.
Principles
Where we don't compromise.
Four rules that decide what we do and don't build. They sound obvious, but in the app economy they stopped being obvious a long time ago.
No advertising
Our apps don't resell your attention. That means we depend on paying users, which puts the bar exactly where it belongs: if the app isn't good enough to pay for, we have to make it better.
As little data as possible
What we don't need, we don't ask for. Personal data stays on your device wherever possible. ThinkGrid has no server receiving your progress, Nadira only sends anonymised positions to the AI, and BlindRoll never uploads your photos.
No dark patterns
No countdown offers, no paywall in the middle of an action, no subscription you can only cancel by phone. Paying can be an invitation; it should never be a roadblock.
Support from the makers
Every support message reaches the people who wrote the code. That's slower than a chatbot, but you get an answer you can use — and sometimes a bug fix in the next release.
Technology
How our apps are built.
For those who want to know: this is the toolbox.
Flutter
One codebase for Android and iOS. Both platforms feel the same, updates ship together, and our time goes into the product instead of duplicated work.
Local-first
Data lives on the device by default. Where we do need a server — verifying a purchase, for instance — it runs in the EU and stores as little as possible.
Offline works
An app that breaks on a train is not a good app. ThinkGrid works fully offline, BlindRoll keeps your shots local and Nadira calculates your chart on your own device.
